Type: Full-time – Nonexempt

General Description Including Key Performance Expectations:

All Refund Specialists are responsible for the following performance expectations:

  • Complete all assigned work in a timely manner
  • Work cooperatively to meet departmental or organizational goals by including others (inside and outside the team) in the process of solving problems and implementing solutions
  • Convey ideas in a clear, concise and open manner during oral and written communication
  • Review the monthly credit balance report to research each account why the account has a credit balance for each group assigned within 30 days of receiving the report
  • Notify insurance if the error was due to their processing requesting a recoupment of the funds
  • Notate each account of action taken
  • Set up refund if patient has overpaid
  • Give all documentation gathered and requests to the team lead for review prior to submitting to the client for payment based on the time assigned per group request (weekly, monthly)
  • Communication and teamwork

Work Experience Requirements:

  • General Typing
  • 10-Key
  • Ability to read and understand various Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
